NJMP Recap: Great Results

Sunday, May 29th was a great turn out and great day for Blair Milner for his debut from a 1 1/2 year absence. In the morning Blair quickly got up to speed in the RED group with sport bike club, "Team Promotion". First Session out and 3 laps in, 2 riders crashed out on the very fast right-hander, turn 9, quickly ending the session.
Later in the day throughout the afternoon, the bike felt great as the Michelin Power Cups gave sensational grip and feedback. Blair was not only able to get quickly up to speed, but over exceeded expectations with fast lap times and amazing lean angles.
Late in the afternoon problems arose. The bike started to lose power above 12k RPM's as the engine started to slip out of power, leaving Blair to be a sitting duck on the front straight away where these machines should easily climb over 175mph. Though Blair was able to push the pace and be a front runner in numerous sessions by out braking riders, Blair's bike was only reaching between 140-155mph which resulted in ending his day missing the last two sessions. Blair was unable to use his spare bike as the brakes had to be bleed out and time was not of the essence.
Overall the results were great and the bike gave enough feedback for his upcoming race. He feels more than confident in the tires (Michelin Power Cup) suspension set up and the way the brakes bit throughout the day.
Stay tuned for Blair's next time out.
